When people think of Interior Design they think of being able to change their home to their desired style, whether it be anywhere from Minimalistic to Bohemian. In this article, I will be telling you about a few of the most popular interior design styles. In my research I found about ten different design styles that a mass of people seem to enjoy since they are the most popular. I will only be talking about three of those that I thought people were the most drawn too.

Mid-century Modern

Mid-century Modern was made popular in the 1940’s and it‘s still the in the mainstream as one of the most popular styles. It incorporates high functionality with basic ornamentation and clean lines. The color scheme usually stays in the neutral zones. Time after time and year after year this style just simply does NOT go out of style.

Minimalism

Minimalism is about keeping a space uncluttered and keeping things you know you will use every single day, minimalists believe in living simply, not many fancy things. The color palette is monochromatic, similar in colors to Mid-century Modern. Minimalistic styles go hand in hand with functionality.

Transitional

This kitchen keeps a modern feel with the rounded shapes, the cabinets and wooden floors lean toward traditional.
Transitional style is a fine balance between Contemporary and Traditional styles. It applies the neutral palette from Contemporary while utilizing the rounded style of Traditional. It’s basically a mix up of what people liked from both styles but wanted to stray from certain aspects. Bold color can be used within this style. The main key points of this would be to stay neutral in the color palette, limit accessories within, choose art that will have a “punch” effect, and incorporate texture. After reading this article, I began to understand a bit more about this complex style. That just about wraps up this article. I gave a brief introduction to the most popular interior design styles.
